The doctor who magazine strip is very good. For the seventies and eighties they weren't very on par with the tv series( ie Peter Davison with no companion). What do you think of them.

Warning the question at the end is for readers only

I read the old comics all the time and they are amazing. I do like the Mag, but the older comics are cooler. But the lastest had the best cliffhanger ever

Brilliant Magazine! I'm subscribed so I never miss an issue! The articles are well written, and the comics are on the same level as the show!

I just want to say that my least favourite strip is the world shapers (127-129 1987). The reasons are listed below

The doctor claims to have no memory prior to his first incarnation despit in attack of the cybermen he calls peri Susan.

Both the doctor and Jamie claim to have heard planet fourteen but in the invasion the only people to use the term are the planner and Vaughn.

The planner is referred to incorrectly as the cybercontroller throughout

Has it occurred to Frobisher that this takes place before the machines were banned?

The idea of the voord being cybermen is silly because the voord are reptiles and cybermen are altered humans
Marinus becoming Mondas is stupid because keys of Marinus is set in the future and tenth planet takes place in 1986

My favorite DWM comic strips are Junkyard Demon starring the Fourth Doctor, Voyager starring starring the Sixth Doctor and Frobisher and Crossroads of Time starring the Seventh Doctor. Junkyard Demon is amusing because I love the idea of reprogramming a Cyberman to be a butler. Voyager had a bizarre storyline and the art was amazing plus Frobisher is my favorite companion. Crossroads of Time is fun because the Doctor manages to outsmart a Transformers sized robot called Death's Head who bounced around from one comic book universe to another frequently in the 1980s. I haven't read any of the Eighth Doctor comic strips or anything beyond that but I hope to one day.

If you do look out for a woman with two minds, immortal samurais, emotional cybermen, crazy robots, body snatchers, freindly daleks, a planet that doesn't exist, an Egyptian god, time travel hotels, female sycorax, weird robots, ice monsters, red hands, a time travelling Japanese girl and "What is buried in man?"

My favorite of the comics was the Tides of Time series. It was a really good storyline and showed us more of the 5th doctor as we know him.

I have recently bought that 1st Doctor missing episode special. Fascinating guide to the missing episodes. Recommended as an accompanying item to the 'Lost in Time' DVD set - I'm a huge fan of the 60's episodes especially so it was a must have for me. ^_^
