HMV in administration

Music and DVD retailer HMV has gone into administration.

I have been expecting this news for the last few years now, I'm shocked it's clung on this long to be honest. It's a shame, but at least the closing down sale will be amazing!

Really upset about this, I haven't got the money to afford downloads so I'm going to be sure I'm at the closing down sale. I'm 14 now so my parents can't have a go at me. But I really felt like crying when my Mum told me about it though, that's where I get all my good CD's from Sad

Downloads are actually cheaper than CDs. That's what killed HMV. Sad

Yeah, it's much cheaper to download, but I've never downloaded an album and never will. I'll buy in supermarkets or online from now on.

I've downloaded many albums, not always worth the physical IMO but I do prefer a CD to a download. Amazon is my last hope it seems, excluding the limited selection in supermarkets.

I understand what you're saying MJF but as my Mum said to me when she told me about it all "Download aren't the same as having the real thing in a case and with a cover"

Such a shame. HMV was probably the main reason I went into Newport other than the Cinema. Anyway I suppose the only positive is that everything will be extremely cheap now and I'll be able to get a load of things I want!

Currently Im reading about the Camberwell tower block fire. 6 people have been killed. This one man's wife and 2 children were all caught in the blaze and now has no family. So sad Sad

Hopefully they'll sell all there stock really cheap. I've been meaning to pick up a few movies.

Been going to HMV loads recently to build up my classic series DVD collection, such as shame as they stocked loads for fairly decent prices. Shall be going to the closing down sale to bag some bargains Razz

What is it with people being attacked by acid? It's horrible, and inhuman. Sad

Was watching a documentary called 'Saving Face' the other night. It was incredibly sad.
