Re: Finishing School
Glad all of your exams went well.
I'm sitting here doing nothing until Tuesday now, for my Drama exam. I may as well go out and enjoy myself.

Re: Finishing School
Well I left school on the 16th, on the Friday I was only going to go in for Double ICT but it ended up being a single because we went to the chip shop for second lesson
Can go in for revision lessons Monday and Tuesday this week, which is what I'll do, then I've got 6 exams over Wednesday and Thursday. Friday will be only for 1 or 2 lessons.

Re: Finishing School
English Lit 1 bites the dust. No more 'Of Mice and Men' or 'An Inspector Calls' again
I was a bit worried about this exam, but in all fairness the questions were ok, and I employed my usual technique of 'kill everything that moves'; in other words, analyse the living daylight out of every quote I put in there! Seemed to work though, and I should hopefully come out ok, especially given the grade boundaries are much lower than we were told (probably to make us work hard!)
3 down, 9 to go!

Re: Finishing School
Chemistry unit 3 for me today, went well happily, there was one questions however that I had to leave till the end, which was depressing, and even though I figured it out correctly at the end, I was kicking myself for it 6 down, 4 to go!
Re: Finishing School
Just one more exam left to do, and I have done next to no revision for it. Looks like tonight is going to be another late night.

Re: Finishing School
I did both the above English Lit and Chemistry exams! English could've gone worse. Was very happy with Chemistry though. Never have to do it again :cheer:
Re: Finishing School
I did Chemistry 3 today too, thought it went alright. No more Chemistry now, just Physics until the end of Y11. When are you guys leaving school?

Re: Finishing School
I'm already on Study Leave, if that's what you mean. Mine started back on the 3rd May (really early compared to everyone else). After the exams finish, I'm FREE. That said, I'm going back next year, so I'm not really leaving, just having a big summer holiday
Re: Finishing School
My study leave begins Friday, excited and nervous at the same time to be honest.
Re: Finishing School
I now no longer have to attend school until 6 June, when the new S5 timetable starts. I'll be there for 3 weeks until the end of June, and then hopefully off to college after the summer (9 weeks *.*).

Re: Finishing School
I've just had 2 math exams recently, my overall mark was 84 which is level 6B and grade C I believe... I got highest score in my class
Re: Finishing School
Going into 4th year soon. Got a Chemstry test coming up next Wednesday. Next Friday ill be in my new class's. 8 days left!
Re: Finishing School
Had a double-whammy exam day today. Very fun. I've still got three more to do this week, but at least once that's done, I've only got the easy exams to go.
5 down, 7 to go!

I love getting a new timetable, TBH. Love the moment when you find out what classes you have when, and if you've got a good teacher or not.

Re: Finishing School
Ahh, the new timetables. I love getting new ones too. I think the joy of it comes both from the new excitement in combination with the feeling of apprehension about being in different classes, having different teachers etc. My timetable for this year really wasn't a shock - I had pretty much all of the same teachers again, other than a few changes which I knew about and were 'upgrades', so that feeling wasn't there. I'm quite looking forward to getting my new on in September though - only lessons I actually WANT to do! Problem is, I shall be majorly peeved off if I get any rubbish teachers, because next year is gonna be really important. I guess the good thing is that I'll get two teachers per subject, meaning that if I get one bad one, there's always a backup
Re: Finishing School
If I have to go back to school (that is, if I don't get into college), I've chosen:
Higher English
Higher Media Studies
Intermediate 2 Business Management
Intermediate 2 Drama
Intermediate 2 Biology
So my timetable should shape up to be rather good.

Re: Finishing School
2 more exams down the pan today!
-Physics P3, went VERY well, most of the stuff came to mind, very straightforward exam.
-English lit Unit 2 (Poetry), went meh, felt like section A went well, but the unseen poetry was a nightmare. Ah well.
8 Down, 2 more to go!
And speaking of to go, only 2 lessons and leavers assembly tomorrow, then I'm done with lessons.

Another one of mine bites the dust - English Lit (poetry), same as VD. I thought it went well actually, although I agree the unseen poem was a bit odd…
Another double day tomorrow though. Luckily it's two of the nicer exams - C2 maths and Music.
6 down, 6 to go! Half way there, and the worst ones are over

Re: Finishing School
Well, that's it. 5 years has come to an end, I've left school today, only to go back for 2 exams now. Leavers assembly was great, really funny and with a generally happy feel. It was quite emotional afterwards, some people did cry, but I kept a stiff upper lip It hasn't quite sunk in yet, I don't think...
Re: Finishing School
Well, today had mixed results…
Music went ok in the morning, I think I did fine on that. Then I had to go into isolation for a few hours to wait to do my C2 exams, and oh boy…
The C2 paper appeared to destroy the small number of us that were doing it. It all started off really well, and then the hard questions just kept coming. Really annoying considering I'll probably have to retake it NEXT SUMMER because they're getting rid of the January modules, along with more than 3 other maths modules! It's made even more annoying by the fact that had it been at a different time (ie NOT after a week full of 5 other exams and on a Friday afternoon after I've already done one exam) then my brain would have been on a higher gear and I'd probably have been able to get the answers out better. Grr, I'm so annoyed! Stupid stupid stupid Edexcel messing up my AS.

Re: Finishing School
Well, I have totally finished all of my English GCSEs now FOREVER! I'm FREEEEEEEEEEEEE! No more metaphors or juxtaposition or asyndetic listing or enjambment or depressing dull didactic novels (or alliteration ); I could go on. Much as English has been a learning curve, and at times, slightly interesting, I shall be glad that it's over, and I can focus on my more factual subjects. Today's exam went fine though - tight for time, but nothing I couldn't do, just a little bit more pressure! The questions they give us are always really vague, and there's only one way of answering them, so you have to learn THE way of answering them, which I pretty much cracked…I think. Then of course there's the written ones, which I think I smashed to pieces. I really did make my mushroom pie sound like something from the abyss!
Now, I have a 2 week gap, and it's the easiest exams of all last - thesciences common sense exams. The thought that I can sit down and do nothing to come out with a B is just shocking…apparently I only need a C in these exams to get an A* overall…now I know why the school chose this board! (I think you only need to get something like 15% raw marks to get a C because the exam is so 'hard' anyway. Idiot proof!)
Anyway, now I can relax and have a bit of breathing space now I know the pressure is off. This is where summer begins (sort of)!
9 down, 3 to go!
