Like Star Trek: The Next Generation Voyager took 2 seasons to get really good. By the time of season 3 the show really started to take off.

Ah... perhaps you are thinking of Star Trek IV The Voyage Home. A reasonable thing to confuse but I agree Voyage Home was one of the best Films of the Star Trek Franchicise

In all seriousness, I think having a female captain did shake things around a bit and keep the series diverse.
