Call of Duty
A marmite game series, you either love it or hate it, I prsonally am quite fond of the series, especially Treyarch's contributions (World at War, Black Ops, Black Ops 2) purely for zombies mode, which is my favourite part of any game ever.
Anyone else like these games?

Re: Call of Duty
Personally i hate the guts out of CoD... except for the zombies, i always play it when i go to my friends house and hes got it on .
I really dont like the games because of the fan base (No offence to you, i mean the people going aww **** you, you 5 year old... ill stop there)
and that its the same each game

Re: Call of Duty
I hated the modern warfare trilogy for that, but I like what treyarch are doing with Black Ops, pushing the boundaries and making it not just your average shooter, still a long way to go, mind
And I agree the fan base is AWFUL, especially all this CoD v MC I always see, honestly, they're just games.

Re: Call of Duty
I have to agree with the marmite analogy. I really don't like it - sorry
I'm really not a fan of mindless violence and shooting things, and prefer more of a story to a game, especially if my choices affect the outcome of the plot (so basically RPGs). My only other reason - although it's quite strange - is because I HATE first-person games, purely because I want to be able to see my character and see what's behind him/her, as well as in front. I prefer a more eagle-eyed or platform view of things, so I'm more third person person

Re: Call of Duty
Hate it. Just a sick game to be honest. I don't get the fun out of killing people in the most realistic way possible.

Couldn't have put it better myself. Just enforces youths' beliefs that violence gets results.GeekChic112 wrote:Hate it. Just a sick game to be honest. I don't get the fun out of killing people in the most realistic way possible.

Re: Call of Duty
I have from all the games: Call of duty 2: Big red one, Modern Warfare 2 and 3 and Black Ops. Big red one was a ps2 game and was great fun to play 'back in the day', MW2 is a classic which I can always have fun on with its awesome campaign and great multiplayer. MW3 had a great campaign to conclude the modern warfare saga and multiplayer wasn't bad. Black Ops campaign wasn't the best, multiplayer kind of sucked though I don't mind it as much nowadays. Zombies though is just awesome!
Might get black ops 2, wait for it to go down in price more though which wont be for a few months yet.

Re: Call of Duty
Personally I see the COD series as one the the worst and most overrated game series' of all time. There is never any real innovation in any of the games, they are basically the same game as the previous one except for a cheap new storyline, new maps and new guns. You could argue that Black Ops 2 is new due to it being set in the future but it really is just the same game as Black Ops. Zombies is the only redeeming feature about the entire series and it's only on the Treyarch games and I only sometimes play COD games when I'm round my friends house.

Re: Call of Duty
I know where you coming from there, some good points. I also feel that I'm slipping away from the series, zombies seems to be the only mode I go on, I play the campaign once but then just stick to zombies
Re: Call of Duty
Yeah some of it has been copied over I cant deny that, MW3 was very similar to MW2 and was just really new in its campaign and some new maps for online. I personally bought it as I loved the story so much I had to play the conclusion, but I know what you mean!
I think because the series is so successful they have got lazy with it, which is why we are seeing the same graphics again and again! But if it sells and they can get away with it, from their point of view why not?
