The Mind Games…

So, I haven't really been very active recently, so to rectify this, I thought I'd pose some fiendish mind games for you. They're not too hard, just a bit odd, although they make sense in the end. So, here's the first one for you…

Imagine you are on a game show, and there are three doors. Behind one of the doors is a star prize - a car, but behind the other two doors are booby prizes - two goats. You are asked to pick one door at random. The host of the gameshow will then open one of the other two doors, revealing a goat. Before opening your door, you are then asked if you would like to stick with your current door, or switch to the other unopened door.
The choice is yours.
What do you do?

Stick to the one you've got because if you say you want to swap doors they may swap the prizes. So basically stick to what you pick

But what if you picked the booby prize all along and then missed out?

Choice a door. Stick with the door youve chosen. If you get the star prize, awesome. If you get a goat, free lawnmower

Looking at it from a mathematical perspective - do you think the chances of winning change depending on whether you stick or change? (hint hint )

Well if you look at it that way, you have a 3 to 1 chance. Is it a rock, paper scissors guess?

At first it'd be a 1 in 3 chance of you getting the star prize, but if you get to switch it then they is a 1 in 2 chance of you getting the star prize. What I'd do is probably choose door number 2 and hope it's the star prize because usually the one is the middle is the star prize. If I don't get the star prize from number 2 I'd probably try for another door because it's most likely I'll get the star prize. It's most likely done in a pattern but I'd just hope and pray I get the star prize

Ah yes, we did this in Maths once, same as what GC said.

I'd change. It's worth a go, after all. Besides, you could get goat cheese from the goat and sell it, making a business and some money for yourself. That money you could use to save up for the car.
