Invasion on Nerdsoup

DAY 1
JANUARY
FIRST 2013, 00:01
“Well,”
Scary sighed, looking at the people in front of him. “Whovians
Create is now, unfortunately, gone.” He stared at the cardboard
boxes filled with the forum archives. “But...but, uh...” He
stumbled to find the right words. “Uh...now Nerdsoup is open, have
fun. Goodnight.” That wasn't a very impressive speech,
he thought. But what else can I say? He
was sweating, and felt like sitting in the corner and crying.
“Well,”
Osmium- no, PHEONIX, said. “I'd say you handled that pretty well. I
couldn't have done it myself, I'm sure of that.” He walked away.
Scary walked up to Campion and MJF, both engaged in conversation.
“Ahem,”
Scary said, tapping them on the shoulders. They turned around. “How
do you like the forum?”
“Lovely
interior design you have going on,” Campion replied. “And it
smells like new paint.”
“Yeah,”
Scary said, “the paint's still wet. Hands off the walls...”
Then
the lights exploded.
Osmium
swore. “I just installed those!”
“Shut
up, Osmium...or Pheonix now, isn't it?” a familiar voice said.
The
owner of said voice stepped out from the shadows. She was using a
proxy, Scary knew, but he'd remembered who the voice belonged to.
PJD.
JANUARY
FIRST 2013 00:09
There
was a set of double-doors leading away from the forum. They were
supposed to be open. But that wasn't the case.
Scary
pulled on them. Sealed shut.
“Oh
dear,” PJD said in a mocking tone. “It seems you're trapped now.”
“So
are you!” Beep pointed out from the back of the room.
“Not
nessecarily...” With a rather evil laugh, PJD exploded into
hundreds of balls of light, and proceeded to dissapear from the room.
“She
used a hidden link...” Pheonix muttered. “Maybe if we can find
it...”
“No,”
Scary replied. “She would've deactivated it. We're trapped here.”
Then,
suddenly, a new voice came into the equation. “Would anyone like a
free Minecraft Giftcode?”
Everyone
turned around. There was a smiling man with artificially whitened
teeth in the back of the room. Scary could make something out about
him that wasn't quite right...he saw the man...flickering. For just a
quarter of a second.
“It's
a spambot!” Scary yelled. “She's left us with a spambot!”
JANUARY
FIRST 2013 00:15
“Are
you certain?” Campion asked.
“What's
the likelyhood of a normal person trying to give you a free virus?”
Beep muttered.
Scary
walked up to it slowly, step by step.
“It's
not able to hurt you,” MJF said.
“They
can't hurt you while behind their skin...” Scary muttered. The
spambot changed into a mass of binary code. “It's the virus mode
you should look out for.” The thing walked-no, it didn't have any
legs- floated towards
the group, emitting a dim glow. Campion backed up, but a spambot
grabbed him by the neck, and, dropping him to the ground, his arms
and legs started flailing madly, and his pupils were twitching in
exaggerated movements.
“Well,
then,” Beep said to Scary, “You seem to know a lot about
spambots; what's happening to Campion?”
“He's
caught a virus,” Scary muttered. “I usually wouldn't allow normal
members to do this, but we need to gather as many people as possible
and take them to the moderator's section.” In the end it was only
four people: Beep, Scary, MJF, and Pheonix. Scary typed a 10-digit
code into a panel in the wall, and they entered the moderator's
section.
“So
what do we do now?” MJF asked.
“We
catch a bit of sleep and work something out later,” Scary replied.
JANUARY
1ST 2013 10:45
Scary
woke up and saw Beep pacing around the room.
“How
long have you been awake?” Scary slurred.
“About
six o'clock,” Beep replied. “But I have a plan.”
“Go
on.”
“If
spam bots are giving away viruses, there would be a link attached,
would there not?”
Scary
realise what Beep was getting at. “No, not happening. I've heard
that the addresses attached to viruses are like an acid trip.”
“What
kind?” Beep asked.
“That
doesn't- why would you even ask that?”
“It
seems the the link is our only option,” MJF said.
“How
long have you been
up?” Scary said in disbelief. “Wake up Pheonix-”
“Hello,”
Pheonix said.
JANUARY
1ST 2013 11:06
The
door was covered in strange binary code.
“If
we'd waited any longer, they would've made it through,” Scary said
grimly.
“Well,”
Beep said. “Where's the link?”
The
binary spread outward to the walls. Scary realised it wasn't just
binary code; it was a sort of liquified
version.
“It
seems to eat whatever comes into contact with it...”
Holes
started appearing in the door.
“The
Link!” MJF yelled.
“Yes,”
Scary muttered. “I was getting to that bit...”
One
by one, they all disappeared in the same manner as PJD.

Virus
space seemed colourful, yet bland at the same time. Spambot viruses
were floating around; they would all have to be careful of them. Beep
muttered something, but nothing could be heard. Scary closed his eyes
for a second. Just a second...

woke up to see a gun barrel in front of his face.
“You-you-ah-,”
the man behind the gun said, “you just APPEARED!”
“Yes,”
Scary muttered, rubbing his head. “Where am I?”
“Well-um-uh,
you're not supposed to be here. I recognise you now.”
“Eh?”
“You
need to find a link quickly, before the other mods arrive. If they
see you, they'll call in Marcus!”
Scary
groaned. NOW he knew where he was.

Beep
couldn't believe it. He was standing next to Tom Fulp, the founder of
Newgrounds.
“Well,
the tour's almost done,” Tom said, “next up is the tank.”
“What's
the tank used for?” Beep asked.
“Emergencies.
Break-ins. It's also based on the logo, so, yeah- awesome.” He put
a key in a lock on a pair of steel doors and turned it.
“And,
here's the-!” he said, opening the doors. “The tank's gone.”

MJF
Walked down the corridors of Wikipedia. There were men and women in
stalls, offering knowledge of certain subjects. MJF was walking with
a weedy man somewhere in his fifties.
“So
what do you want to know about?” He seemed to twitch for a second.
No, he hadn't twitched...it was something else. MJF was still trying
to figure it out when the proxy fell.

Pheonix
woke up to find himself in Whovians Create. Which was almost
definitely a coincidence. Until he found he couldn't move. He caught
sight of PJD rooting through the archives that he hadn't moved to
Nerdsoup yet. She turned around.
“Now,”
she growled, “since you caused me all this trouble, I thought I
would mess with you for a while. It'll be fun. And you'll make a
great bargaining tool.”
“How
did you get me here through virus space?” Pheonix asked.
“I
own virus space. I thought I'd go for something bigger than one forum
this time...how does the internet sound?”

Scary
was in Marcus' office.
“What
do you think gives you the right to come HERE, on to MY forum, after
so many wars?”
“I
got lost in virus space,” Scary answered.
“Why
were you in virus space?” Marcus asked impatiently.
“PJD,”
Scary spat.
“Then
it appears we have a common enemy...” Marcus muttered.
“What?”
“PJD
wants conquest over the internet. Haven't you heard? It's a wonder
she hasn't come here.”
“What?”
“Moderators!”
Marcus yelled. “Assemble! We're going to help an old friend save
the internet!”
